Bellefontaine Neighbors, Mo. – A devastating multi-vehicle collision on Lewis and Clark Boulevard claimed three lives Friday evening, including an 18-year-old Ritenour High School senior recently crowned prom queen.[1][2] The wreck unfolded around 8:30 p.m. near Haviland Drive, leaving the north St. Louis County community in shock just days before the victim’s graduation. Authorities continue to piece together the sequence as they hold the at-fault driver in custody.

The Collision Unfolds

A southbound Cadillac SRX sideswiped a Lexus RX 350 on Lewis and Clark Boulevard, sending the Lexus across the center line into oncoming traffic.[1][2] The Lexus then struck the front end of a northbound Toyota Highlander, causing it to overturn. The Cadillac veered off the roadway and slammed into a cluster of trees.

All three women involved in the Lexus and Toyota perished at the scene. The Cadillac’s driver fled initially but authorities located and took the individual into custody Monday morning. No charges have been filed as the investigation proceeds.[1]

Victims Remembered

Jordyn “Lunar” Williams, 18, rode as a passenger in the Lexus driven by her aunt, Cherese Fisher, 53. Williams had been voted prom queen at Ritenour High School just days earlier, with graduation looming on the horizon.[1][3] Andrea Medina, 28, drove the Toyota Highlander and also succumbed to her injuries.

Local residents expressed disbelief over the loss. Keyonna Sherwood, who grew up in the area, noted the road’s familiarity to commuters. “This is my neck of the woods,” she said. “I’ve grown up right in this area. We take this road to work all the time. That could have been us.”[1]

Crash Sequence:

  • Cadillac SRX sideswipes Lexus RX 350 southbound.
  • Lexus crosses center line, collides with Toyota Highlander.
  • Lexus overturns; Cadillac hits trees.
  • Three pronounced dead at scene; Cadillac driver flees initially.

School District Responds to Tragedy

Ritenour School District officials notified families over the weekend. Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education Bruce Green wrote in a letter, “It is with a heavy heart that I have to share the news of the passing of one of our students. This is a difficult time for our entire community.”[1][3]

Grief counselors arrived at Ritenour High School Monday to support students and staff. The district emphasized community unity amid the sorrow. Meanwhile, Harris & Hall Dove Release offered free memorial services, including dove releases and videos, to honor all three victims.[1]

Road Safety Concerns Mount

Lewis and Clark Boulevard has drawn complaints for its hazards, with six other crashes reported there this year alone. Joshua Harris, another local, called for improvements. “I pray that St. Louis steps up,” he said. “How many more deaths do we need before they step up and make a change here?”[1]

Missouri State Highway Patrol leads the probe, reconstructing the incident with witness accounts and vehicle data. The community pledges to remember the victims through vigils and tributes, turning grief into calls for safer roads.

As details emerge, families await justice while holding onto memories of lives cut short.
